If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.
History
Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest of O’Reilly Radar and Bre Pettis of Make. Since then 100s of 5 minute talks have been given across the world. Besides Seattle, there are thriving Ignite communities in Portland, Sydney, Boulder, Baltimore, NYC and lot more.
Organizers
Ignite is brought to you in Cincinnati by the following founders and volunteers.
Joe Pantuso is a repeat entrepreneur with multiple Internet start-ups and exits under his belt. He is founder and CEO of Fortezza Technology, an Internet safety start-up. He initiated bringing Ignite to Cincinnati as a “missing ingredient” in the community and to bring more energy and cross-pollination into the start-up and geek communities.
Chris Ostoich is founder and CEO of Blackbook EMG, a CincyTech portfolio company. He is an entrepreneur, creative thinker, and a major cheerleader for Cincinnati and the main instigator behind Secret Cincinnati.
Candace Klein is the founder of Bad Girl Ventures and an attorney with Graydon Head & Ritchey, LLP. She is also a former lobbyist for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
Ignite is a completely volunteer-run community event with all income going to event costs. We depend on Volunteers to help run things smoothly. If you are interested in being a volunteer in any capacity please contact us.
